Black/Death Metal VS Blackened Death Metal

A lot of people get confused when it comes to separating black/death from blackened death. So i made a video where i play 5 riffs in black/death style and in blackened death style.

The diference to me has always seemed like black/death is a fruit salad where blackened death is a smoothie. Both are the same ingredients but in black/death you can distinguish the chunks of black or death where blackened death is a fine, inseparable blend of the 2.

My band plays blackened death (or black/death), didn't even know there was a difference. We just play whatever riffs we like, our influences include Behemoth, Belphegor, Dissection, Nunslaughter, and the likes. Never really bothered me to think hard about the difference.

In 90s everyone was calling that Black Death Metal . And there were more ways of how to mix that styles. Than some wanted to be "special" and started to call bands similar to Behemoth "blackened death metal"...

In 90s and early 2000s Behemoth was for everyone Black Death metal until someone wanted to make it "special".

People stop that nonsense.

There are just more ways of mixing that 2 styles.
