Thank you so much from Downunder for your comparison. Cleared the confusion I had and I now know what I need. Awesome video. Cheers

Yes I run stihl and Honda in my business. I have a Honda hrx and a stihl fs 70 and fs 91r and I love all of them!!

I’ve gotta say I’m so happy I went for the Honda HRX rather than any thing battery powered. Although I will say being able to store them standing up is a pretty sweet feature

Very nice video and I appreciate you moving them around so I can see the different perspectives. Great job!

Got to say, your information is first class. I'm in Scotland, so can buy from you guys, but you're really helping me make the right choice for my next purchase. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the explanation and I've been researching the battery mowers and I'm thinking unless we have solar power to recharge the battery's the petrol mower is still a better option.
Then again if we have solar energy, a tiny garden with a lawn like Sir Walter then yes maybe.

Doesn’t faster charging reduce battery life? If you are not in hurry you might prefer slower charger

If I owned a small yard I think I would just get rid of the grass and maybe use some gravel. I am not signing on to a future of buying batteries batteries and more batteries for everything.. Already tired of charging my cell phone and went back to a landline.

I guess it depends on what you want, outside of just the mower…and obviously the size of the lawn being mowed. I want to add at least a blower…I have a Craftsman 20V trimmer that’s working fine for now…but if it stopped working I’d probably add a Stihl trimmer as well. For me the 460 with the AK battery makes more sense. The mower, blower and trimmer and all less expensive. For what I’d save I can just add a fast charger for $110. The AP powered BGA 86 blower with battery and charger is $590, versus the AK powered BGA 57 with battery and charger for $200. I’m sure the AP powered one is more powerful, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that going to the “Pro” series makes sense for everyone.

Thanks for this amazing compassion video...I am looking for a mower and I have the scarifier that uses the AK series, while the rest of my pruning gear is AP series. I need more batteries for the scarifier ..so I think will get the AK mower so I have the same battery running after I scarify the lawn. Hmm

Carls ... can the larger 6 amp battery from the 510 be used in the 460 for longer running times? Is so will the 460's charger work with the 6 amp battery. I've used Ryobi hand tools for years, have found the slow charger works best for longer battery life, also Ryobi suggest if you can let the batteries cool over night before charging that to makes them last longer. I've got some 8+ year old batteries so there is something to letting them cool down before charging.

Random question. Can you use the Ap series batteries on the Ak series machines?

Excellent presentation. Most information videos lack factors that are unique to different types of terrains. Mountainous inclines/ declines, flat terrains. Front/ Rear/ AWD capabilities, I find tire wear is an issue. I believe all lawn mower tires should have deep tread. Traction is very necessary to overcoming inclines. Wet grass also adds to slippery problems. I would like to hear about this in videos.

What about parts availability, blades or what have you? One guy bought a Makita and messed up the blade and replacements are on back order for awhile.

Fixing to replace transmission in a 510. Never replaced one before.

As a heads up …… none of the Stihl dealerships seem to offer just the mower or just the chainsaw with out also having to buy the battery. It seems Stihl is almost forcing customers to buy a battery with each tool.

Do they make 1 with a rear roller? Can't find 1 anywhere.
