Extremely helpful video man! In prep for submitting library music for a documentary, this is exactly the kind of knowledge I needed!

Loved this video, Ryan! I did a few of the things you show for my album, complete trial and error, but I think I achieved a decent sound quality in it

Very interesting video. There are barely any videos on mastering orchestral / soundtrack sound.

Cool idea with key frequency, although it might be tricky if key changes a lot, do you automate it?

Tape plugin is also interesting, it does soften the mix indeed. I've always thought that my mixes sound 'jarring', I might try that.

Do you use any reverb plugin?

Did you ever make that "other" video you eluded to? I'd love your thoughts on mastering music set to picture.

I have heard that some of the "muddier" frequencies of a track can accumulate in the 100-200Hz region and that some engineers will search for harsh sounding frequencies and duck them by ~1.5dB. You seem to be taking a different approach by boasting the frequencies in this area according to the key of the track.

How are you combating any dissonant build-up in this region? Are you dealing with it in the mixing stage on a per track basis?

Thanks! I appreciate the tips from the video

do the infos in your video also work for mastering a song(instrumental with a voice over it) ment for tv and films?

Great video, thanks.
Would like to hear how the stems work through the chain. Getting a one size fits all mastering set up when creating stems is a task I find difficult. I have tried many setups. At present I’m just getting each stem to hit hard as a bus and then at the master out there’s a little L2 ‘gain’ to use as it’s almost there before hand. Kind of like I’ve mastered the stems already if you get me? I only use this approach on this style of ‘library’ music.
I’m curious why you set up an out 1&2 after the master ?
Thanks for the video-there’s very little of this kind :)

It's pretty cool brother., if I Master the tracks with sub mix and bounce the individual tracks, is the same quality is there for every track?

Can you help me, man? My mix sounds GREAT on various headphones but terrible on the TV alone! Why? What should I do? What is the secret to make a mix sound great on good media and also on the shitty TV plain sound?
