For over 20 years, until 2006, the people of northern Uganda suffered at the hands of the Lord's Resistance Army insurgency led by Joseph Kony. Tens of thousands of people were killed, injured, abducted or mutilated while about 1.8 million others were displaced. Now about 15 years after the guns went silent, the reparation and healing of the psychological scars among victims of the war remain a big challenge in the region.
