Styling Tips for Maximalist Antique & Vintage Displays!

Показать описание
We sold so much at our antique shows this season, but there’s still great stuff that needs a home…a huge Blenko decanter, a big set of fun MCM dinnerware, true antique glass and rustic decor all need homes! So we’re stuffing our mall spaces full, showing and telling you how we set up our stock to get collectors’ attention, all while letting you shop our spaces at the same time.
You might not pack it in at home this thick, but for maximalist collectors, there’s a lot of fun ideas in this one! We start at Seattle’s Lander Street Vintage mall, where we’ve moved all the furniture (there’s a good reason), grouped some like items to help sell multiples (Pyrex, anyone?), and paired other vintage items by color to suggest both seasonal and complimentary groupings. We talk about why old advertising stands make great displays to isolate categories like vintage S&P’s, breweriana and paper ephemera, and show the difference between displaying for deep viewing (e.g. wall art) versus up close shelves of cocktail ware, whimsical 1950s pottery and lovely vintage linens.
Then it’s on to Tower Street Vintage in Centralia, where a different audience and a different setting make different styling ideas work here! We take on the challenge of theming showcases (one with wild Western vintage, one with Victorian and Fenton glass), show how the right piece of furniture can make it easy to group kitchen items of many kinds and eras, and reveal display concepts that attract and lead the eye through seemingly random collections of everything from fancy brass candelabra to Dresden porcelain.
We talk about why we overstock our displays as well, hoping you can glean a few ideas that help you style your own less crowded vignettes at home or in your own reselling venues! And if you see something you like, leave a comment and timestamp within a week of this video’s release so we can tell you more about it and send it your way.
