The photos you showed of John Carruthers Stanly and Jeremiah G. Hamilton were not the actual pictures of those men. The one photo you showed of J.C. Stanly was actually George Henry White of North Carolina. The second photo was actually Jeremiah J. Hamilton, an American state legislator from Texas.

William A. Leidesdorff was born on October 23, 1810 on the island of Christiansted in the Danish West Indies. His father Wilhelm Alexander Leidesdorff was a European man from Denmark. The parents of Wilhelm were German immigrants. William's mother Anna Marie Sparks was of West African and Carib Native American ancestry.
