Live looping in Ableton made simple. (Tutorial)

Simplicity is the key!

Using only 3 midi pedals on the floor.

The first one activates the play button on ableton + activates the last looper on the signal chain (main record button)

The second one activates the second looper, which is configured to follow the song tempo, acting the same way as a clip in session view on toggle.

The third one is configured to stop Ableton (stop button on the top row) and to erase all the loops at the same time. This way it destroys the whole composition and goes for another round.

You don't need a metronome because the drum loop starts at the same time as the first loop.

I added a bit of delay and reverb after both loopers to make it smooth, that way when the loop resets it doesn't sound like it suddenly stops and starts again.

This is the best for creative looping ideas, if you really like something just drag and drop the loops in the session view, they are copied then and they stay as ideas for your new song.
