I loved this song when it came out. Back when they first started the biggest competition on the charts was themselves. They would have multiple hits out at the same time. Those were the days my friend I thought they would never end-but they did.

Spring of '65, a Saturday.. My best bud and I went north of town and found what we thought was an abandoned barn. It was raining so we went in and played around in the hay while it rained. Both of us were smokers🥵 so you can probably imagine what happened. Anyway, I planned on taking my girlfriend out the next weekend but on Sunday night it burned to the ground. This song was getting airplay at the time so it always reminds me of the barn burning down. It certainly wasn't intentional, but we both had no doubt that we caused the blaze.
