[Advent] Shut Up and Ride - Best Action Connecticon 2012

My Action Entry for the 2012 Anime Boston 2012 AMV contest

For this I wanted to make an action video that wasn't just about fight scenes or characters fighting each other or anything related to that. Sure there is some fighting toward the end of the video cause it is an action video, but the overall scheme is as follows

It's about pure chase scenes that get the adrenaline pumping when you watch it and how an action video isn't just about characters fighting or fight scenes.

When i first saw this anime, once i was done i figured that there was no way there'd be any AMVs of it because it wasn't well known. Not only was a wrong, but this is one of the most amazing AMVs i've ever seen.

You know, I don't hate this series, but when I first watched it, I came to the same conclusion that many critics did. The show was decent but with how little screen time most of the characters had and the multiple time skips along with the Saturday Morning Cartoon villains, I felt that Rideback could have been a lot better as a two-cour series. There was just too much that seemed to have been removed when adapting from the source material due to the short time frame that the series had to work with that by the end, I got to where I didn't care about the characters or the plot that much.

On the flipside, this AMV rocks, and I wish that the Anime series had focused more on the things that your video portrays than the overarching plot and politics that it ended up going for. Just my two cents since most of the comments here were talking about how awesome the series is.

At first I thought that the AMV was centered around the girl, and her driving skills... Then I actually started listening to the lyrics, and realized I was thinking about it all wrong... It's about the bike(s). <3 Good tune, good editing, and good taste in both music and anime! :D

I can imagine Ridebacks having their place.  Not for heavy military action, or in place of tanks, or anything like that, but they seem to grant a huge amount of mobility, which would be helpful for certain kinds of missions; especially the sort that would mainly involve infantry otherwise.
I think they'd be in much more common use in a domestic capacity.  Normal police work, and perhaps some SWAT operations.  I can also imagine the government foolishly trying to keep them out of the hands of civilians, the way they do with guns, which would probably lead to "Rideback gangs."

I saw this at ConnectiCon and it totally deserved Best Action! It was so good that it gave me shivers just watching it! Congratulations!!

Why did this not get best in show at CTCon? I was busy doing lines as a volunteer and unfortunately missed some of the show. But compared with the Best In Show which was picked, it's clear people voted along "favorite anime." Keep it up, and lets hope for Best in Show for ya in the future!

I didn't think this was the best at AB but it was AMAZING, I never finished Rideback and this made me really consider picking it back up again.
