Place value - Subtracting 100 and 1000 using place value counters

In this video we begin by using place value counters / discs as a concrete resource to help children understand how to subtract 100 and 1000 from a number. We then progress to recording the concrete resources pictorially. We initially look at calculations where only the hundreds or thousands columns are affected. We then progress to looking at what happens when other columns are also affected.
