Destiny 1 in 2024 is still alive and a great FPS game to play. Both PvE and PvP still has players and you can experience the entire game. Today we hop back on Destiny 1 to see how the game's population is doing in 2024. There has been a resurgence of popularity for Destiny 1 in the last 6 months as players return to the game. You can easily experience the weekly strike playlists, and you can even get into PvP matches regularly if you search the weekly featured game mode. Destiny 1 was a special game for the time and if you are at all curious about the title, right now is absolutely the perfect time to play. We don't know how long Bungie will keep the servers on for Destiny 1, and once they go off, the game will be lost to time. What's great too is if you're brand new, you can experience the entire story as each campaign is still present and playable in the game. Thanks for watching!

D1 is a great package for new players, 60$ for the base game and all DLCs, my friend group and some family got this game and played for the first time and absolutely adored this game

Destiny 1 I think is a special game that I wish I gave more of a chance during its heights.

It had an unmatched atmosphere, unmatched music, excellent reward loop (post taken king) and exciting universe.

Destiny 2 feels like it has been deconstructing and “un-cooling” everything that D1 built up.

D1 was built on passion and from the bones of great lore and game direction. D2 shifted more to being managed and influenced by the decisions of shareholders. The truth sucks but at least we have the memories

It’s the way the map and campaign missions are set up for me seeing all the missions and being able to play them back individually straight from the map and to see all the missions complete also gave a huge sense of accomplishment

Anyone remember OG Mr. Fruit from back in Destiny 1? I used to watch his stuff all the time and my favorite videos he used to do was with his buddies Blue and Rhab where they basically did Guardian Games before that was even a thing where every episode was them vying to see who was best, and the winner got to impose stipulations on the losers.

Never played Destiny 2 but I remember playing Destiny 1 and the alpha version of the game on Xbox. The community and gameplay was ridiculously good. I really felt immersed in this game, it was a great experience during High School.

Why does it look so much better! The environments, the lighting, styling.. so much more than the generic feel of D2.

I’ve just started D1 again on a new account and it’s so much fun, it feels like a game with a lot more care and passion put into it.

Bro, I’m in love, I’m brand spanking new and am having so much fun. The community is great too, I asked for some help on the level 10 strike I was on, I think it was Devil’s Lair, which put me in solo the first try, I got about half way with level 10 stuff, so I think I did pretty good, but that took me around an hour, I didn’t feel like restarting after that, but I remembered I don’t have to do solo, so a couple level 40’s really helped me out with the mission when I asked for some help in the tower, and they actually commended me for not reloading the strike after the first hour and actually attempting it solo, which I’ve gotta admit once I get some better gear I think it would be a lot of fun to try again!

I started playing after Taken King and before Rise of Iron.
What an exceptional time to join the community. There was so much content, and the stories and quests were phenomenal. I could spend all day exploring Venus and Mars, especially the areas underground.

Ironically (if you still play d1 or d2 regularly) then you know that the d1 & d2 servers are link as well as it sadly (depending on how you take it) are pier to pier. So unless d2 servers are shut down, then there’s no need to worry. That’s why when d2 is down for maintenance it reflects it in d1 as well. Hope this info helps🤟

+ Destiny 1 is more rewarding to the player.
+ It felt less of a grind despite it being a big grind (Weird I know).
+ Art direction, honestly I think they did a better job with D1 I like the style they've got. It's aged very well.
+ Music/Sound I think that is another aspect which D1 has clearly done better than D2.
+ Level design and the world itself, the places within D1 felt more atmospheric partly due to the above point. We've not had better PVP maps with D2 and to back up my argument, they're bringing back all the old strikes, raids and world spaces from D1 for a reason.
+ Kinda going back to the rewarding aspect, the guns that we got were amazing most of them. Whilst with D2 they dumbed them down and catered too much for balancing reasons. The PVP is partly to fault with them trying to make what should be a casual fun PVP game into a sweaty E-Sport wannabe.
+ Destiny 1 PVP was and still is better, maybe for people who enjoy a sweat you'll prefer D2. What made PVP on D1 successful was its approach to not take things too seriously and where it started to go South is when it catered to the people complaining about everything.

Its just unfortunate that the original vision for Destiny was ruined from the get-go with Destiny 2. They did do their best to reverse the horrible double primary decision which I must state the community people within the boards and content creators are largely at fault for this. I don't think you ever see the OG D1 team make such a huge blunder like that but as we know most of them are gone and that's why the quality isn't what it use to be.

I dont normally like remasters/re-releasing games but a destiny 1 remaster has been on my mind for a couple of years now, especially, after coming back to it occasionally

Might sound dumb but, 1 thing i miss from D1 is how the ammo looked, with no black boxes but more like translucesnt. And also the lightning as well as the day/night cycle

I just got into Destiny 2 a few weeks ago after not having played Destiny 1 in several years. I actually had no idea D1 was still live AND active. Those days of the original Destiny release were so hype and I’m glad people are still able to go back and experience D1.

i miss doing the d1 raids. i remember trying really hard to solo crotas end on hard and only ever being able to do it once after tons of attempts. id hop on again if my ps4 didnt take a crap a few months ago. destiny 1 was really special. its been a long time now but remember the 1st time people find the alternate path in that daily heroic mission for that powerful sniper rifle? or the insane community quest to figure out how to get that insane burst rifle from the siva raid? damn what a good time that was.
