Blair String Quartet performs Jessie Montgomery’s “Break Away”

The Blair String Quartet performs “Break Away,” by Jessie Montgomery, by permission of the composer. The piece is written in five movements, calling on popular styles such as jazz, hip hop and rock, and includes several moments of improvisation from the players. It was recorded September 26 in Steve and Judy Turner Recital Hall at Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music.
