OUTSIDE OF PRAGUE: Karlštejn Castle

In today's video we head to Karlstejn Castle! Just one hour outside of Prague, Karlstejn is one of the Czech Republics most beautiful places to visit. They offer tours so you can visit the castle indoors but it is still so worth going to check out even from the outside. Located in the quaint town of 'Karlstejn.'

There are old limestone quarries (Veká a Malá Amerika, Mexiko) in the surounding - few km away - we used to walk there from Karlstejn. Definetly worth of visit. But the true is - not very friendly for strollers.

Hi, to be honest, though the castle itself is very pretty, I think personally that the whole atmosphere is missing, in terms of the weird shops etc.. Th caste itself is pretty outside, though inside it's quite empty and not that interesting..
Me personally would recommend either Pernštejn Castle, or if you want more romance, then Hluboká nad Vltavou or Lednice. But there are plenty of them in Czech Republic (441 in total - 388 ruins and 53 full castles and chateaux), so just try to find the one you will like...
