10 HEAVY Alternative Metal RIFFS

Here are ten alternative metal guitar riffs for you guys! We are looking at some classics such as System Of A Down, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Papa Roach, Disturbed and Deftones but - also Avenged Sevenfold, Drowning Pool and Three Days Grace! Not intended to be a Top Ten Riff List, just part one of a series ;) I wanted the bands to be various which is why there is only one riff per band in this riff list! Also these riffs vary in difficulty. If you want to learn these riffs, I've put links to tabs for them at the end of the description. This video is more of a compilation of suggestions what riffs to learn - it' not meant as a tutorial in the first place. Also the tunings of these songs alter so that you also have a chance to discover new tunings =)

PLEASE NOTE: I re-mixed my take on Hail To The King to have a louder rhythm guitar but didn't put it exactly back in the space of the video I recorded to it. Hence this part looks a bit strange, duh! Really hope one day I don't do any editing errors anymore. So annyoing haha.

Damn it! I still didn't learn Bodies like I said I was going to. So many cool riffs and not enough time. xD I never know what should be classified as alternative and what shouldn't, but I do know that was an awesome list! That Papa Roach riff was great! Awesome list!!! I've always been an alt metal fan. The Three Days Grace and Papa Roach are my favorite riffs on the list!! Although my cousin would be super happy that Breaking Benjamin made the list. He LOVES Breaking Benjamin. He even has their symbol tattooed. It looks really cool. We love to share cool music with each other. Your playing was on point, and the video was awesome! :)
