Big data in astronomy

Big data is the next biggest challenge for astronomers and we are absolutely not prepared for it. We saw how the event horizon telescope generated a tiny image of the 1st ever super massive black hole, but in the near future, Euclid will be generating images of 1/3 of the entire sky - and they have to download it all the way from outer space! LSST will be imaging the entire sky every 3 nights and SKA will be generating more data than 10x the global internet does! Its scary times, so let's talk about it!

I used to work for a storage company and we was always shocked at how much data people in your field deal with. Your videos are really good keep it up :)

I heard Genome Projects will put Astronomy data to shame in terms of sheer size.

We definitely need to get these quantum computers off the ground and manage that data faster!

I'm 37 looking for a stable career, this field interests me but I don't know where to start my education without going into extreme debt. Any thoughts?

Can you explain me how an image contains so much data? Is that only an image?

I know of being able to upload code to the quantum computers at IBM, Microsoft, etc. Did big data take that quantum computing or visa versa?

Could you leave the infographics on the screen a little bit longer for us slower people to read :)

The music at the end sounds like instrumental of Cruel Summer by Bananarama. Is that what it is?

Hello I need your help.
I am an aspiring data scientist and want to apply data sci(ML/AI/DL and informatics) on astro data.Where do you think should I start .Do I need to have knowledge of astrophysics for it.If yes please tell me how do I do it without a physics degree And what is the job market/research for it available
Thanks

Wow stunning. What kind of data can it be?

Cool vid lady! Followed it from twitter. It seems like knowing Python and machine learning is probably a good skillset for astronomy these days! Are you (an astrophysicist) developing that skillset or is it the realm of developers at ESA? Very interesting.

Wonderful glasses, cosmic.
Yes interesting. By dealing with a part of the data one gets insight in the rest. So the part we grasp is exciting.
The endless universe keeps surprising.
