University of Excellence Bremen

Mid-June 2012, the University of Bremen won the title "University of Excellence" in the course of the German federal government's Excellence Initiative. For the next 5 years the University will receive about 100 Million Euro fundings from federal and state government. This money will not only support the Cluster of Excellence MARUM and the Graduateschool BIGSSS but also the University as a whole. A sensation since Bremen will have the only University of Excellence in Northern Germany.
