My guess would be a model of the boiler and engine rooms. That would be awesome

Ryan & Libby, do an updated video on how important electricity is on a battleship. How & where it is generated. How it is routed throughout the ship. And all of the various motors & devises scattered all over the vessel that rely on electricity. Thanks❣️

One stunning fact about an Iowa is just how many electric motors there are.😳

It might be cool to have a 5 inch dummy shelland a 16 inch dummy shell by each model to give an idea of the scale of each model to the real life counterpart. Or even just a "life size picture of the shell"

I would say the Mk-38 Fire control director, or perhaps the whole foremast.

Could he be doing a cutaway of the propeller to the boilers and showing the drive system

It still makes me laugh that you can just see in Ryan's face how glad he is to have his battleship back home.

It's sooo cool that you have people that are willing to put this number of labor-hours into something this awesome, detailed, historical, and nerdy.

As a wheelchair bound individual myself this is a very cool idea. I have yet to tour the NJ but I have been on board of the NC and having to rely on others to take pictures of the insides made the experience bittersweet.

Yes, I absolutely want to see Ryan crawl back into the splinter deck lol

The model is amazing. Hats off to Myles.

This is one of the most unique methods of supporting the museum I've heard of. Hopefully Miles is able to duplicate them for the other Iowas. It'd be incredible to have other modelers join in on this work and help build out other spaces like this for not only accessibility, but as you noted, for better detailing the spaces guests can't see.

Those two gun turret cutaways are simply fantastic! That modeler has amazing skills and an eye for detail.

I spent an hour and a half in the USS Cod and the next two days aching from twisting through the bulkhead hatches. Loved it.

Guess on Myle's new project: He's gotta be working on an engine-room. That's what I'd be building if I had a 3D printer and enough time/discipline to try to model this sort of thing

An incredible pair of models. They really show how the visible gun is only part of a large system that snakes its way down through the ship.

That's some incredible work. Kudos to Myles, this is wonderful.

3D printing sure makes scratch building models so much easier now. I built a model of the sub my dad was on in the 50s using a stock WWII kit but modeled and printed new parts to make that kit look like his boat (the Blenny). They were testing out the sonar systems that would eventually go on the nuclear subs so had a very odd looking conning tower and other attachments on the deck that no other diesel sub ever had.

My guesses are:
1. Main battery director
2. Secondary battery director
3. Plotting room
4. Boiler and engine rooms
5. Powder magazine for the 16in turret model
6. Conning Tower/Bridge
7. Fire control tower
8. Ice cream parlor, barber shop, dentist or other misc. space
9. 40mm Bofors Quad and Twin mounts with directors
10. Turret cutaway from a different ship class/type, such as 14in BB guns, cruiser guns, etc.
11. Brig?
12. VLS missiles?
13. Something completely different.

He's obviously building a damage control locker
