Atari GAMESTATION GO! - The FIRST Look at the Updated Hardware for CES 2025

My Arcade's much-anticipated Atari handheld is to be showcased anew at CES 2025!

For the past twelve months, the #1 question I see in the comments in reference to @MyArcaderetro is, "Jon, what's up with that Atari handheld we saw at CES 2024?" First dubbed the GAMESTATION PORTABLE, and later renamed GAMESTATION GO, news about this much-anticipated handheld device has been sparse to say the least. Even leading many to suspect it was quietly shelved.

It hasn't been, and finally today we get an update. Sort of.

As a 55 year old that has played Atari since the beginning, this is almost more than my mind can process. If it plays as expected, this is a grand slam of a device.

As a 62-year-old, who was 15 when xmas-gifted his 2600 the first year of its release back in 1977 (one of the first 2600's originally made in Sunnyvale Ca, including its original near mint box and all of its cardboard inserts, I know, nerd ;), this Atari product has me totally freaking out with excitement! Oh, and your channel totally rocks! 😁 P.S. an actual flippin' trackball?! Woohoo!!

It looks like the versatility this unit is headed towards will be amazing. I hope it turns out to be even more awesome than the preliminary views look. Thanks for this sneak peek. I was more than mildly interested in it last year when the news of its existence first broke. But, now, I am seriously watching this device and anxious to hear more from you next week about it.

Very interesting. The number pad has me thinking it's going to include 5200 and Janguar games. Possibly even Intellivision games since Atari acquired the brand.

Trackball? Numpad?? Credit??? Shoulder buttons???? Holy hell this handheld is trying to be the most versatile retro gaming handheld available to humankind. And with HDMI out, it's looking like a fully fledged retro gaming "Switch". My goodness.

I’m sold. If MA were to invest in external controllers such as spinners/paddles, trackballs, controllers, etc. to go along with this, that would be amazing. Future proofing it the way they have, shows the possibility. Thanks, as always!

This could be the killer device for MyArcade even if it has only half of the features I'm hoping for! I'm going to say it's only going to be Atari by the color scheme but the micro SD slot provide almost unlimited gameplay options. Really looking forward to CES
