This is one of those love it or hate it projects. I turned a few pallet slats into a set of bookends.

Loved it, Jay! There's absolutely nothing I can add to anything anyone else has already said, so I'l just say that You Rock!

They did turn out very well. Nice message. Jack put together a great group for the collaborative builds. Thanks for joining in.

That was great! I've never seen anyone use a triangle to cut miters like that. I'm totally going to borrow that idea!

Aside from the great bookends, that was a very fine piece of video production, which gives more evidence to a claim that I've made several times: the craftsmanship required to make good wood pieces transfers to video production.  You see it with all the really good YouTube woodworkers.

Totally agree with your sentiments Jay, and great looking bookends too :)

Lovely words and T-shirt! As for the project - the ultimate 'doesn't have to be that accurate' woodworking. Simple and really beautiful. Also I must add that I completely adore the way you put a reclaimed wood to good use. Congrats!

Had to watch it twice -- just for the message.  Thank you.

It certainly interesting how the same project idea becomes so many creative ideas.  Thanks for your take on it!  Looks great!

Another great video. I really love to build but I always found reasons not to. Either I didn't have the right tools or the money for lumber and so on. Thanks to videos like yours and a few others I have started reclaiming lumber and finding ways to build the things I want with the tools that I have and I am having a blast. Thanks for all the great tips.

Nice build.  I also liked your commentary.

I liked the dialogue through the video.  It's very true that is multiple people go at the same project but are not given a clear end result there will most likely not be two projects that end the same.  I also liked the style of your bookends.
