Wow! Two pyramids in Ireland who would have thought?..Beautifully done too.There certainly is a lot of local history of this area within this Cemetery.and some beautiful headstones too.I absolutely loved the Angel, such a beautiful statue and I can imagine she must have almost glowed when she was new and first placed in there.A beautiful Memorial for their daughter for sure.I noticed too that most of the headstones were in great condition, probably because there are homes built around the place and protecting it from some of the weather..Thank you for the adventure..Love n Light 🥰

That is a lovely cemetery, it will be better when they finish cleaning up. Those Pyramids are a work of art, as you said the senior of the De Burgh family was an architect, he did well designing this. Lovely statues and monuments. Thank you Sue, much appreciated 💕🇦🇺

Hey Sue, another great video. Very interesting to go from the older section to the more recent. It was good to hear you mention re the person cutting the grass, at least theres some semblance of upkeep happening here. With so many counts, countesses, etc, this was clearly meant for the upper crust. And the pyramids- thats a first too! I wonder how these came about - that someone in the family specifically requested them, or if theres something in the family lineage whereby pyramids hold some significant meaning, who knows. Great vid! :)

The pyramid mausoleums are fascinating. A most unusual sight in Ireland. It's great to see the graveyard being maintained.

I take it that the old part of the cemetery was forgotten! I truly hope than when they get it cleaned up that you can go back and see the improvement of it! I love those old headstones! It's amazing that you can read them!

A fine large mausoleum can be seen at Ch. of Irld. cemetery in Kinnity, Co. Offaly. Another large one at OLD Ch. of Irl. cemetery, Kilcooley, Co. Tipperary, across a lane from the modern cemetery there. Kilcooley is near village of Gortnahoe. Be sure to visit the adjacent Kilcooley Abbey and Columbarium, just a field away! Have seen another, but quite small, in grounds of Ch. of Irl. cathedral Lismore, Co. Waterford.

So frustrating when they put the pyramid information so high up…why do that? They write info down, but unless your 12’ tall you can’t read it, and it looked so interesting Sue. Surely they aren’t just going to leave a sheet of plywood over the open grave, if it’s really a 12’drop, as you can be sure boys or someone curious will be lifting it up to have a look! Love your walks round these cemeteries…you always find some real gems. Can’t think of anywhere else that has three cemeteries all in the same cemetery…what a find! Thankyou Sue. And I compliment Irish Eyes when he’s with you for being so helpful, yet keeping out of camera view, he’s a real gem to have with you, just in case. At--17-17-- I'd luv to be able to very gently clean that beauitful Angel and put a few coats of lacquer on it to keep it protected.
I got to repair Mother Mary statue at the Catholic church close to Perry Point. I refused any money and the flowers I planted there still come up every sring even though they were just store bought, I couldn't afford the ones ment to come up each year. (I've forgotten what they were called, the ones I wanted to get.)
I think maybe Mary likes her flowers, anyway I like to think so. I've since planted roses around her original flowers.
