Nice that you touched on the ethics of wild-caught fish. I appreciate that.

I like that you distinguished between the 20 gallon long and high. Load-wise, Aquarium Advisor focuses on the surface area of the tank. In that sense, a 20 gallon long is equivalent to a 29 gallon. I like your suggestions, and would only add that live bearers can be readily combined with some of the other community fish. Also, your suggested loads are on the light side (based on Aquarium Advisor recommendations), which is better for beginners.

This was the most informative video I’ve seen about choosing fish. You are an excellent communicator.

Great video! 😊
I never knew that much effort went into a sorority tank, but it makes a lot of sense.

Thank you for providing advice and education. It really bothers me that some big channels promote betta sororities…and they do so for beginners who are just finding out about things like bio-filtration.

This is probably the most accurate and most informative but at the same time the most underrated video on this particular subject on YouTube. Thank you so much for giving proper and realistic ideas for fishkeepers like me. The betta sorority part was my favorite. For many reasons I love female bettas more than males.

Thanks for explaining which ones do best in long vs tall tanks. I see a lot of videos where they make suggestions like every fish would do well in both.

Probably the best betta sorority intro I've seen. Thanks!

Very nice ideas for 20 gallon tanks! I didn’t know pea puffers were wild caught. That’s pretty cool

Good range of options and some great suggestions there bud.
Can confirm about the Pea Puffers being fine with Ottos. When I kept them they were fine with Amano shrimp and adult Cherries. I suspect the baby Cherry shrimplets were ending up as lunch though.

I’ve saved 10 feeder guppies from a local fish store. They are doing well and some even turned out pretty 😍 10 less little guys eaten

*I just got a 15 gallon long tank*
Was thinking of stocking it as follows;
- 1x Honey gourami (male)
- 10x Neon tetra
- 4x Amano shrimp
- 10x Red cherry shrimp
- 3x small snails

Is this okay? I know it sounds like a lot, but you gotta keep in mind that the snails and shrimp are really really light on the bioload.

*As for filtration*, I'm using a Seachem tidal 35, which is used for up to 35 gallons. So my thinking is that the overfiltration this filter provides would help to keep the fish happy.
