Sir Christopher Lee loved and knew Tolkien probably more than anyone alive outside of Tolkiens children. He even met Professor Tolkien and told Peter Jackson it was a lifelong ambition to be involved in an onscreen Lotr. He fulfilled this goal and many more. Rest easy Lord of Metal and Rings

Christopher Lee's exceptional acting, and amazing voice, are enough to almost make us forget that he was also a ww2 combat veteran. From his volunteer service to help the Finnish, to hunting Nazis with the SAS, the man was a warrior long before he was an actor.

Evidently there was a day on set where some poor script girl was trying to explain the one ring to him, and he couldn’t get a word in, so he stood up and said this word for word from memory to scare her and show he knew *EXACTLY* what the one ring meant.


All I can say after hearing it myself is... that poor girl.
