HTC Jetstream vs Apple iPad 2

PhoneArena presents a brief comparison of the HTC Jetstream and Apple iPad 2.
The HTC Jetstream is flying in to make a name for itself as being AT&T's very first tablet to feature next-generation 4G LTE connectivity. Indeed that's a prevalent shining point for the Honeycomb flavored tablet, but when you look at its $849.99 no-contract price, it seems remarkably overpriced versus the comparable $730 32GB 3G-enabled version of the Apple iPad 2. There's no arguing that they're going to be the cream of the crop for moment on AT&T's lineup, but which one should you fork over your hard earned money into?...

I played with a Jetstream and there is no way it's that baggy. Also, I love how the scrolling in the segment just after that scroll test was smooth too..nice.

Why do you compare the swyping on the homescreen when you chose a LWP on the jetstream.

As soon as you switched to the next part after saying how much smoother iPad 2 was, you had turned off the live wallpaper and it was almost just as smooth.

How's about focusing a little on the HTC's major selling point, as in the Scribe technology, instead of mentioning it once at the end. It adds to the price, the size of the device and is what differentiates the Jetstream from the rest of the crowd.

Why don't you review the jetstream in LANDSCAPE mode where it will be used most of the time and there's is less lag??

It's interesting that the well-known feature of the stylus was mentioned as an afterthought.

The spot where I see bias is showing these tablets almost exclusively in Portrait mode. 16:9 tablets do look slightly awkward in portrait mode compared to the 4:3 perspective of the iPad, however in landscape the 16:9 tablets look incredible. Also, while I admit it's a weak point of the software, a couple of the apps shown are more optimized for landscape (especially the email app, which rocks 16:9)

The guy didnt mention the HTC Scribe pen which is a big advantage over normal capacitive stylus.

sorry for duplicated post, after your homescreens comparision between the 2. on the next video you don't use live wallpaper and HTC works really really well.

that made me think Phonearena intended to use live wallpaper when they compare the homescreen smoothness

@BlackHaxorus they have a16:9 aspect ratio, perfect for movies, and android tabs are meant for landscape view, not portrait like the iPad, you are just used to the iPad

Turn off the Streak Live Wallpaper on the Jetstream. On both my friend's HTC Evo 3D, and my HTC Sensation, Streak makes the homescreen scrolling significantly more laggy.

They should have used pictures with the same resolution as the jetstream to compare with the pics on the ipad.

The review seems biased toward iPad 2. No mention of applications, the availability and how well they run on each tablet. He did not give specs on how long the battery last. Failed to mention that iPad memory is not user up-gradable, a very important feature. This review get a 3 out of 10 stars :-)

I ditched IPhone for an HD2. Jailbroke it and never looked back. I run Android and WP7. Now I own an HTC Jetstream. Apple is not the suit. I use my tablet for school and research. It is a very sweet product. The person I sold my iPhone to is always wanting to use my tablet. LOL
