This has been based on a true story. A mother went through great trauma being separated by her children. She was declared unstable. I think they were consulted before making this movie. I cannot imagine the nightmare she went through. I will not undermine or diminish her anguish in anyway.

co-sleeping is very good for the child for scientific reasons. highly recommended by doctors. Apparently, norway is backward still.

As a Norwegian born and raised, it would be so painful for me to not sleep with my parents a lot. Currently 26 years old, and I really needed to sleep together with my parents for many years because I had nightmares that kept happening even tho I was half awake, so I needed a friendly body to hold around me.

It is like if foreigner couple feed their kid with spoon and fork in india then Indian athorities will take their child in custody...
Doing injustice based on cultural differences doesn't make sense... I feel It's cultural intolerance.. Or ignorance.. Or culture supriority complex

Thanks guys, we were in Norway (Oslo) too. This incident is true, and one of the strong reasons we did not want to stay in Norway. So once our son was a bit old for school, we moved. Also English is not the first language so difficult to navigate. We had to learn basic level Norwegian. Although the locals that I met were very friendly.

Rani is the master of her craft, whether she’s doing Krav Maga in an action film Mardaani, playing a woman affected by Tourette’s syndrome in hichki, a deaf dumb girl in black or a rich girl from NY singing “Hey Shona” and dancing at Times Square, each and every character is nailed to perfection. Such variety, such a range is unmatched :)
Here in this trailer, her screams tug at our heartstrings :) there will never be another Rani

Feeding by hand not allowed?! sounds absurd! my mother would sometimes give me food by hand, not always, and of course not when very soft foods, in that case a spoon is more useful, but it definitely happened. Also, I do recall sleeping between my mother and my father on at least one occasion. Since this is many, many years ago, I don`t remember much, of course . I do remember that I did have my own bed, but it very often happened that I would sleep between my parents. Child care has been controversial here in Norway, and in this case they definitely could have handled things a lot better! I am glad they were convicted at the Human Rights Court in the Netherlands, hopefully they have learnt a lesson. Namaste from Oslo.

Sometime, last year I read about the life of an Indian woman who was adopted as a baby by a childless Scandinavian couple in the 70s. The husband wanted to adopt the child but the wife was not so keen. The couple anyway adopted her and took her to their country. A few years later the couple divorced. The wife was given custody of the Indian child. She placed the child in an orphanage. So the Indian girl ended up moving from one foster family to another. Some treated her well and some didn't. She ended up getting pregnant at 17 or 18, dropped out of school, married somebody in her early twenties, had more kids, got divorced. Two of her kids now live with her and the other two refuse to even see her because her estranged husband does not want them to see her. She had an extremely tough life. She says that it is quite common for adopted children to go through this type of life when people who have adopted them get divorced.

I watched the movie today and was really taken back by the level of trauma that mother went through. I’m aware of social services being very vigilant in western countries and had no idea they were this psycho in a country like Norway which apparently stands amongst top 5 happiest countries in the world. Upon researching some more I found there are many other similar cases related to other communities as well which is really sad. Being a parent myself I can’t even imagine going through this with my child so thank god I’m not in Norway or any other similar country with such bull shit laws.

I know about two single mothers, whose children was taken for income sake by other families in Norway. One mother died before her children became adult.

I understand the makers of this video are desperate (probably financially) to live in Norway but that doesn't mean they've the right to dilute the facts shared in the movie. This movie opens up a huge number of issues about immigrant family safety and racism that prevails across Norway, Denmark, Germany and other countries in European Union.

Thank god I’m in Australia here community service people come to your house and they are so nice to mother they respect our culture. I remember when my daughter born I told childcare service nurse that my house is messy n I felt embarrassed but she said your health is way more important than anything else and you as a mother knew better for your child then anyone else in this world.

Honestly, I am glad that this is coming to light. You have given your very balanced view on this ❣️ (which reflects that you that feel safe) but that's not the case with everyone. This needs to come to the surface. In 2021, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) handed down ten judgments against Norway. Norway was convicted in six of them for having violated human rights—all of them dealt with child protection. In total, the ECtHR has handed down 65 judgments against Norway, and the state has been convicted in 43 of these. And 43 is 43 too much. There are so many bad and ugly stories in Norway about this topic-on the part of child protection against children and parents.

We live in Melbourne, Australia and thankfully Child Protection Services here are not as brutal or insensitive. As a new mother, I always felt so supported and more attention was given to my mental health than the baby. Never heard any fellow Indian parents complain about the system too. Nordic countries don’t have as much multicultural population as Australia, thus they awareness to cultural differences is shockingly poor. They have different system in place & honestly it came as a shock when I saw this movie. It’s inhumane what that poor mother had to go through, I even blame in-laws for further adding to her trauma. Shame on them!

I watched the movie today and what I feel is that none of the rational that you guys shared justifies whatever the child care system has done stands inhumane and nothing to contribute to the "interest of a child" even if only consider the information or interviews of Norway's representative available in public domain. After watching your video I feel is that you also approves the functioning or existence of child care system, which is unfortunate since you guys are also Indians but later realised that you guys also have a kid and you also have to zip your mouth about the hawks or rather the vultures.

they look down on co sleeping because of Sudden Infant Deth Syndrome.. because in the west moms could have had alcohol, weed or anti depressants or anxiety medication before sleep so that could be in deep sleep and roll over the baby.. moms in west also don’t have maids or family that help them after pregnancy so they are usually very tired week and exhausted

I always heard good things about Norway, how progressive and developed the country was along with the natural beauty. I was not aware of this case until this trailer but my girlfriend told me about this movie and that it was based on the true event. Most of the people around me are really worried now about the condition in Norway and she was saying as it is better to stay in India rather than any other country. I researched about Norway and Bernevernet in the last few days and people from around the world have a very similiar opinion. One person was saying he doesn't plan to visit Norway even for a vacation until all this children are 18.
Bernevernet has struck fear in the mind of everyone with the alleged "child abduction". I hope the government tries to improve the condition. Let them not snatch away children for minor reasons as said in the trailer.
I hope when I visit Norway sometime in the near future, the condition is far improved. As you guys said, they are learning the cultures so I hope the changes are implemented soon.
Dear Norway, try holding on to the reputation you are trying to build.

I saw the trailer as an advertisement between one of my youtube videos and I instantly thought about you guys. Honestly, it has been my dream to build atleast one restaurant down in Norway. I was researching about the lifestyle and culture down there and that's how I came across you guys and became a part of your little youtube family. And that's what made me worried after I saw the trailer. Anyway, thank you for putting out content that actually matters and I hope I could meet you once I plan my trip.

This case became famous in West Bengal as both the parents were Bengalis from Kolkata. You can find lot of material online from old news links that explains the circumstances in detail. It would be wrong to say that the parents fought, it was solely the mother's fight, first with the Govt of Norway, then with her heartless husband and in-laws at our courts to get her children's custody. She has been through a lot and emerged victorious.
