To transfer money from a Chase bank account and to your Chase checking account from another bank - you have to link the external account. Some banks don’t allow you to link them instantly. In this case you have to add an external checking account manually. Here is how to add an external checking account to your Chase account. First, open the Chase website. Then enter your username and password and click sign in. After your Chase account opens - click on “Pay and Transfer” in the top menu. On the transfers page click on “External Accounts” On the external account page click “Add external account”. Then click on “Add a new external account” Now you can either choose one of the popular banks or you can “Add account manually” On the next page you have to provide a routing number for your external bank. Then enter your account number. Select account type etc and click Next. Now you can see confirmation that your external bank account was added.
