Something extremely rare and unique living in South Africa. A small compact super car, or should I say hatch that can challenge any super car at any time.

The Golf 7R platform has been the closest thing that VW has done in a long time, since the iconic Golf 1 GTI, this is because they have gone back to the idea of why GTI is GTI and not try sugar coat it with anything fancy or something that has to compete with other markets in the industry. The platform has come a long way and having all the potential to grow even better, Oettinger, the small and highly successful company in Germany, think they have nailed it.

Oettinger have designed a full house kit for the New Gen VW Golf 7 GTI as well as Golf 7R. This package is complete with a full body kit, as well as engine upgrade to stage 4+, race spec motor build.

The Kit was put together in South Africa by Oettinger Branch South Africa. and sold from VW Edenvale, by Justin Naidoo, with only 650km on the clock, this car has barely been run in, let alone raced at any level.

I have been waiting 3 months to be able to shoot this car and finally the day came, I even got to Shoot with the Mavic Pro drone and test out the Tripod Feature.

Nice work Jason. It would be good, once the car has done some km's, to do a drag race against a standard Golf R for example. Would be good to see if there is a major difference i.e. 0-100 stats etc

It's sick! New it was an Oettinger build haha :D they're awesome (I mean the cars, not the beer :D that's shite)
But somehow your mic isn't set up right, the engine sound seems to be too loud for it..

Cool car, but for the price, I'm unimpressed with the fit and finish... if you pay attention, most of the things they painted orange look like they rushed. The tape lines are all curvy, not straight. Is this just a Stage 4 R with the body kit pieces? What makes it a "500R"?

I thought the Oettinger 500R was a 5 cylinder, not just a normal 4 cylinder with a bit more power. If you look on YouTube you’ll find heaps of videos of the 5 cylinder car.

To me it looks like a R with a slightly different bodykit, +200HP, a fancy headrest and a way too overused touch of orange paint, else it looked like a stock R on the inside? Not anything like the "superhatch" widebody version they showed everyone..

Those golfs cost a ridiculous amount of money, then people do the conversion for "R200 000" which means you end up paying about R750 000 for a golf with some fancy bits. For that kind of money you really have alot better cars out there that is faster. 3/4 of 'n million for a golf makes no sense. You pay all that money and those cars still doesnt sound good..at all, just a bunch of induction sound of the turbo.

APR, REVO or E-tuners can give you that power for a much lower price if you not interested in shitty bodykit like this...here in where I live this will cost me around $10k with labor MAX...Oettinger styled cars looks like shit...and they want you to pay shitload of money for it...not to mention that 7R36 by HGP smash it...even e-tuners 7R will smash this car.
