This is by far my fav stable design, but my horse got killed when i was griefed on a server, so i just put fences under the perimeter of the roof, and replaced the slabs with glass panes

you should have a large project of the month.  it doesn't have to be a tutorial.  it can just be a showcase.  it could be a:
1) Sports arena
2) Aquarium
3) Zoo
4) Apartment complex
5) Resort hotel
6) Mansion
7) Museum
8) Park (not playground)
9) University campus
10) Military base

Hey, how about plot houses? Like a 4x4, 5x5 and maybe go bigger with a 15x15 or maybe mix it up like 5x13 or something like that. I dont know.

here are some more modern ideas:
1) Fire station 
2) Police station
3) Mountain condo
4) Apartment (don't build the whole apartment building just the room, maybe 2 bedroom,     2 bath, a kitchen, perhaps a balcony)
5) Animal shelter 
6) Restaurant
7) Gym
