I cornered Steve Huber and took him to the quiet room at Banjothon. He is playing our good friend John Bowles RB75 DA5055. You will hear John's voice to my left, talk about the banjo.

You can hear in these video clips how truly different prewar banjos...esp good prewar banjos...are from modern ones. They ring easier, and sustain *much* longer. They still haven't figured out how even with all the $1000 tone-rings floating around lol.

But it was perfect! The room really echoed and allowed the banjos to ring. That is what I love, the incredible ring these things have. I just can't wait for more prewar videos from you.

Excellent job, especially for someone who just woke up! ;-)

This banjo has so much body to the sound in comparison to the banjos Joe Deetz picked. Gotta wonder if it is the banjo or the player or both ;)

Different players, different is classic 75 sound, different than a thicker rim earlier "fat boy" rims. One of my favorite banjos, musical sound. I wished the room was better
