The Balanced Dipole MYTH ( Balun Myth)

Показать описание

The myth about needing baluns from coax to a dipole because dipoles are balanced antennas.

Hmmmm..MY DIPOLES ARE UNBALANCED!

The ARE or they wouldnt work without a balun, would they?

ONE WATT IS TOO MUCH POWER WITH THEM.

Its fun to LIE TO MAKE MONEY.

Same with the Tuner Lie. $200-400 you might as well flush down the toilet. Or give it to ARRL.

See my video on How to make a CORRECT dipole and stop wasting time, money and power!

Don't hold me to this but I think Owen Duffy, VK1OD also said the same thing you are saying here. I know there is one other person that said this about dipoles as well. I have never used a balun in all my years as a ham. At present I have some RF getting into my computer speakers on 40 m only. This is only when running my amp at around 700 watts on voice peaks. No rf on the controls of the radio or amp and I have a good ground. I believe it's because there is a current maxima right over the roof of the house and that intense rf field is being picked up by the wiring in the attic. After watching this vid I'm definitely not spending 169.00 plus tax for a balun, never thought I needed one. Furthermore, I just turn off the speaker power switch when I'm on 40 and problem solved.

KkO4LFE, Dipole, 75 ohm coax, Matchbox ( L network calculated for 80, 40, 20 ), 50 ohm coax to radio.
