I doubt Pappy was the sole "brains" behind base building. By the time you announce a feature like he did, you're already well underway. I wouldn't worry too much.

Ok, I've completely checked out when it come to SC. The actual release of Squadron 42 will be my next encounter with this ongoing project. I really hope it'll be good.

I would prefer they focus on appartement in big cities (like Cyberpunk) where you can customise it like you want (like Warframe/Fallout 4) then later down the line, go for the base building.

Todd Papy was done with this project for years. I've seen it in his eyes. The same stare you start to recognize after working years on a game.

It's all just rumors as to why Todd left. Last rumor I heard was Todd was requested to work at a specific office that he didn't want to work at and choose to resign. Unless Todd speaks out about it, I doubt we'll actually know for sure what happened.

They need to be careful about letting Orgs capture too much stuff. Just check what happened in EVE with that. Let these centers remain PvE and allow Base Building to basically be the same thing as a DC but obviously owned and built by players.

Base building is an essential. I’m glad to see bed logging on planets works really well now so I really want to bed log in my own house on a planet/moon.

And store inventory items, maybe stack on armor/food at my house.

Definitely looking forward to all the new features coming in 2024, but I don't expect to actually play the game until we have server meshing. All the pretty bells and whistles just don't matter much if the servers are still crawling along.

Love the vid Morph, just an update that the 10-second vid contest ends on March 6th, the hold the Idris event ends today, Feb 27th. Just to clarify for people who are looking to still capture the Idris. Either way, happy hunting all and best of luck to the contestants!

Why does this put base building progress in question? The word was that base building implementation would _start_ Q1 2024. No one said it would come to us this year and that is an expectation which is at best unrealistic. And while Todd leaving is probably having an impact, I doubt it is anywhere as severe as some make it out to be. He did not actively work on development, in his role he would oversee it or more likely oversee the people who oversee it. So it really should not be that much of an impact.

This POV is really very "glas half empty", but that seems to be your general feeling and attitude about SC, at least lately.
