I learned more about effectively utilizing the Skytrak in your 5 minute presentation than in six months at a shop from a manager that had been using the device for nearly five years. Thank you so much. Keep up the good work.

I place the ball about 4inches back
For putting and works all the time for me. Feels like it reads the speed better as well. Great vid keep them coming.

Good information! Remember that it’s important to make sure the bottom of the SkyTrak is level with the hitting surface. This should help with ‘no-reads’.

My wife has a ladies league here and they struggle with misreads. I told my wife about your tip to move the ball forward. Thanks!

great tips. I would like to add an experience I had. My wife was having multiple miss reads (no reads), and I had very few. I discovered that she was blocking the camera with the toe of her club. She has a very shallow swing, so worked on a more "on plane" swing. That has helped with the amount miss reads. Once again, I appreciate all the content and work you do.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much for this. Liked and subbed. I have had the SkyTrak for several months but have never been able to get it properly set-up. I think there are a number of factors that have contributed to this. First off, I agree with comments below that you have to make sure the Skytrak is level, not only with the mat also from a tilting perspective. The built in levels can help with this as well as the alignment lasers that you can turn on. (Use the little level that comes with it on top of the unit for tilt) I was using the fat white rubber tee (driving range) for drives and I was hitting it generally 190 and all over the place. I would then hit my 3 wood off the mat 230, brutal !! It was so bad that I haven't been playing it much due to frustration. Same type of thing for really high shots (ie: your lob wedge explanation), and putt alignment. I have ordered the new tees as recommended and can't wait to get going again with all your tips. I have a black driver and haven't experienced the same effect (as others) but I have an older white R11, and will check it out with the new tees. Thanks again for rejuvenating my belief in a great product, that I just didn't know how to configure properly. I think Skytrak should send out a lot better instruction and or videos, because without these tips like yours from real life, they may get negative feedback simply because peeps don't know how to set things up.

Just to clarify a bit, for "faster" swing speeds I would classify this as being 95mph or higher with your driver. Putting the ball behind the dot will help a lot as well, but launch angle does factor in also so it helps with people with low launch angles also, even if the swing speed is not at that level.

Ive had great luck placing the ball 10 inches to the right of the red dot when putting. When im outdoor golfing I spot putt so this works great as I use the red dot as my spot.

Hi,
Thank for the info, definitely helped especially with the wedges. I have also noticed the red lens attracts dust after many hits and requires a soft cloth wipe.

My wife got me the og SkyTrak a couple weeks ago and I can’t get it to read my drives . It will read 1-2 and then just stop. Really debating returning it for the Bushnell Launch Pro

Not sure if this helps but it works for me, I use a laser line tool and place it so it runs through the center of the ball and onto the screen, I then use a 7 iron with a putter stoke with enough force to reach the screen this gives me a true shot angle and allows me to align the Skytrak, if my shot is off line I know immediately.

Excellent video. Do you know if Skytrak works well with 30% almost golf balls?

Appreciate the tips and your videos sir. Been a minute since you posted this video...not certain if this will find your way. I am about to pull the trigger on a Skytrak+ as I don't believe I have the appropriate space for something like a Mevo+. I was considering purchasing the 4x7 Sigpro Softie golf mat kit but was hoping you could provide some expertise on the Skytrak placement in regards to the ball striking area...I've viewed some video concerns about placing the Skytrak on the same general hitting surface area leading to misreads from ball strike vibrations. Your setup looks similar in design with a dedicated hitting strip but yours might affix to the larger matt more securely. Sigpro strip appears to sit via a clean cut out and tamp down versus any submerged connectivity.

The Sigpro kit also appears to have a remaining 1.75' on the pad. This would require the Skytrak to be placed at least 1.75" away from the ball. How far away can you place the Skytrak from the actual hitting surface and still expect accurate reading? Should I just purchase a hitting strip so that the Skytrack could sit closer to the hitting area but on a separate pad? I hope this all makes sense.

Thank you very much.

Seamus.

The most important thing for my setup was to get the Skytrak out of that protective metal case. That instantly eliminated most misreads and made chipping and putting actually playable. I am gonna take an angle grinder to the protective case to see if I can improve it. If not, I'll just toss it. It never gets hit anyway.;
