PacMan Nebula: How REAL stars are born!

Hi folks, thanks for supporting me right up to 20K subscribers. I really appreciated that! In this somewhat artistic video (ahem) I'll first explain how I made the picture by integrating 9h of narrowband data with infrared and x-ray data from the Chandra and Spitzer telescope to create this picture. I then move on to show why nebulas in space are so important. The PacMan nebula harbors many newborn stars that are actively being surveyed and studied by professional astronomers (e.g. Kim et al, 2021) to better understand the birth and early formation of newborn stars and planets.

Clear skies!
