Steam BANS ALL Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Games on Their Platform!

How is this going to impact the blockchain gaming industry? Steam is a massive provider of pc games and has been widely used for years now! This new rule seems to have little cohesiveness in their terms.

Of course we were all getting our minds blown thinking about WOW incorporating NFTs already - this is just going to accelerate the entire process of crypto gaming/ PTE because the crypto companies are being forced to continue to innovate and pave their own way. And the public demand for these projects will keep them going.

Block chain does not want to be housed on something as centralized as steam. They don't want the legal vulnerability. Blockchain needs a cross chain platform for itself.

I am hugely bullish on NFT gaming, i think its one of the few ways current NFT projects will continue to hold value once the rest plummet to nothing. I think NFT gaming will allow people new ways of earning income by playing games which is revolutionary. However I think steam made the right choice for their business right now. Theres just no easy way for a platform of their scale to regulate the the assets associated with crypto gaming. I mean what infrastructure would steam have to put in place to be able to ensure that their customers did not get rug pulled? Or get manipulated like gambling games and lose all their money? I think thats too much outside their wheelhouse right now.

Do I think steam will be full of crypto games in the future? Yes I think it's on the horizon, but only once the technology has been developed further.

I would do the same !!! Blockchain is a way for them to get money routed completely away from and through THEM! It brings legal issues .people can pay eachother here!!! thats monetary!!!! and players pay for things not benifiting steam!!!! i would do the same if i was steam sorry got to be honest!!!!

If world of warcraft had NFT's the influx of bots would rise the bot population in wow from about 20% to probably closer to 90%. Yes the company makes money, but ppl who want to play the game suffer. NFT's are not good for ppl who like playing games and botting will destroy the whole idea even further. NFT games will be another garbage dumb like mobile games. When games are more about money and less about the game you can expect that the games will be garbage, if bots can earn someone money through these games then good for them but this is not what videogame industry or ppl who enjoy games should endorse.
