Most of the people seeking to live forever can't figure out what to do with themselves at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. Too scared to live and too scared to die.

Normal conversation would include: "Our first son was born 762 years ago"

I’ve spent the last 61 years convincing myself that one day I will die.
I’m comfortable with that.

We have to solve deterioration of the body first. Most people would love to live in their prime years of 18-26 for as long as possible. Not too many would want to spend any amount of time being old and decrepit.

I look at our planet and see nothing but experiences, exploration, and possible achievement. Although there may be a lot of negative things you would experience, the remedy of time would solve that.

Imagine your body never failing you, seeing your 90 year old grandparents perfectly healthy and going to see the world.

The better part of the century we are given isn't enough to even begin to scratch the surface of what you could experience here on earth.

Then I look up to the stars and that century seems like a blink. This life may not be all peaches and ice cream, but I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else.

Yes I would live forever. This is something ive never said to anybody I dont know in real life so its kinda weird putting in on the internet 😅 but at one point I was suicidal and I survived an attempt. Spent two weeks in the nut hut and then went to live with my mother until I was mentally sound. Some crazy stuff happened in the weeks after that and then I moved to Arkansas to take care of my grandmother so that she could pass in her own home that my late Grandfather built for her with his own hands, and not some hospital or nursing home. It was during her final months with a long battle of dementia. In that time, I learned what love and death is. I learned how to be a man. She gave me those gifts before she passed even though most the time she didnt know who I was. When she passed, I decided to stay and build a life there. And so I did for a few years at least. Made great money, made friends, hunted and fished all the time. It was great, but Eventually I left Arkansas. In that time of me living there, I lost two very important people to me. One, my grandmother to dementia, and two, a girl whom I considered a sister to suicide. The same girl who saved me from my own attempt. I still struggle with issues like anxiety and depression, however, my mindset is totally different. I love life. I love family. I love being able to love. I love being able to feel pain. I love the taste of cold water right when you wake up. I love my animals, I love falling in love, I even love getting my heart broken (not in the moment ot course 😅). I guess my point is, I love life and all it comes with and I will never take it for granted again. And if I could live forever and experience every aspect of life in every way, I would. No matter how much I suffer, life is sacred. Its a gift. But a borrowed one. And when the day comes that I have to return that gift, I wont fuss about it. But I just wish that never happened and it didnt have to end. I wish I could live for all those who died.

In the last 50 years, we have reduced infant mortality and maternal mortality. Life expectancy for people who have survived until the age of 50, has not improved at all in most first and second world countries, in the last 50 years.

Life is unique and fantastic. We are blessed that we can live but it doesn’t mean that we should live forever. We must accept that we have to die and this makes this life more valuable
