The outburst is an artwork by Chilean artist Franco Salas Borquez.

Although Franco Salas Borquez uses several different techniques for his symbolic representations of seascapes, he favours oil paint as it provides the required transparency to illustrate the sea. The artists paints the waves using an intuitive but rigorous hand to achieve the same degree of fluidity as the sea. Thus his artworks, thanks to the effect of realism, reproduce the same sensation that comes from contemplating nature.

The artist works with a sort of ‘memory archive’ of ocean images, allowing him the freedom to create his artwork spontaneously. Franco Salas Borquez’s paintings produce feelings that the titles then confirm, bringing a sort of literary aspect to the image. The work then gives way to a narration through a limited colour palette and with a rigorously worked light intensity.
