Interesting that you address this. Lately I find myself vocalizing along with certain classic cello pieces. I know it may not exactly be what you're encouraging, but there is a depth of feeling that I get doing that, which is unusual for me, but it's very satisfying when I do it. Nice for putting the vocal exercises into practice. As usual. Ms V, your observations are always on point....😊👍

All the young singers I knew back in the day could and did sing a variety of songs in the style intended. And they were good. I find this preferable to so many of the famous operatic singers who sing everything like they were singing " Celeste Aida" onstage at the Met. Once again, you are on the money.

My teacher and I work on a lot of different rep, and I sing a lot of different rep. I'd like to think it makes me a much better, more versatile singer!

This also helps me get rit of bad habits in singing. In the songs of Green Day i try to approach it different because otherwise i lose my voice like the great Billy Joe Amstrong
