I've tried another popular version of these deflators recently based on price. You get what you pay for apparently, and even though they had "Convenient" clear PSI markings along the length, when I used them, I found that each tire had a DIFFERENT actual pressure, which, IMO, make them worthless. I promptly returned them and replaced them with the Stauns.

This is a great idea, because having more than one set of Stauns is too costly for the benefit (IMO), but the ability to set up for varying terrain or obstacles easily has enormous value to me. I plan to set mine this morning and put them to the test later today on a mountain trail near my home. Thanks for sharing.

Mind blown ! I have Stauns and have 2 set at 1 pressure and 2 at a lower pressure. But this is a very much better approach. Thank you !

Cheers mate …this’s genius…you’d think the manufacturers would’ve thought of this & etched two permanent marks on each deflator

Great way of remembering, I just bought some stains and back of the pack it says you can do adjustments at the rate of 3psi every half turn. I do like you way cheers

Awesome little hack thanks for sharing it I’ll be making up my stauns to see what preset pressures I get.

This is great, perfect timing for me. I'm in the market for these types of tyre deflators, and I really wanted to get Stauns as they're Australian made, plus they've proven themselves for years. But without any pressure markings on each deflators I thought changing the preset would be a long process. That's why I was about to buy a set of the Campboss Boss Air Deflators, which has pressure markings on each deflators. But seeing this, I've decided to get the Stauns. Thanks for sharing.👍

That is a great tip. This will encourage me to use my Stauns far more frequently, especially since my knees are from from young & flexible amymore.

Great tip I was about to do the Amazon order of shame and get the camp boss because having to reset these annoys me so much.

Will try this and see how I go.

After watching your A30M video I took a look at what else you had. This is a great idea! I have two sets of Stuans and a set of the Camp Boss adjustable versions. I never thought of doing this with the Stauns. BTW I also own an older Jimny and my sand pressure for that car is 8PSI all round. Not sure I would ever go that low in the Disco though.

I will use them but only to help get me down to a pressure to save me time with my tire deflator.
I had a set I was given a number of years ago and never used but after watching your video I thought I'd have another look so just went out to test them.
The problem is they are all different. Out of the 4, on 0 turns I had 40, 38, 34 & 32 PSI for each of them testing on the same trailer tire pumping it up after each go. 1 turn varied how much less each was. It would do my head in knowing there are differences but not knowing which on each corner - not that it probably matters much but at lower PSI's I guess it would.
They did seem to be fairly stable re-testing the same ones again and again, within 1 PSI. I also tested using the first click. I found sometimes I could pull the pin and it would go a little further but that wasn't as reliable for consistent pressures.
So I've set all of mine now to 25. I usually run 50 highway so that lets me get the ball rolling airing down all 4 in 1 go then go around and finish off manually if needed to go lower.

i have had a set of these that i have been using since 2011. i set them once when i got them, and havent changed them since (and they have not changed at all, they still deflate to where i set them). i found that for me, i leave them at 15psi, and that is a good starting point for most situations. i can adjust them up or down from there if needed.
