I've lived in Columbus, Ohio, most of my life. The crime has increased over the years due to liberal mayor and the City Council. I blame their policies.

I'm in Youngstown Ohio one of the cheapest places to live in the country. A lot of people who moved to Columbus have moved back. After selling there home in Columbus they rebought the same home in Youngstown and have a ton of money left over or bought a much nicer house. I went to Ohio State and enjoyed Columbus as a College student but as a working adult I'm happy to have left. For awhile people were pouring into Youngstown seeking an affordable life.

I was born in Columbus - but my family moved down south when I was 10 - I still have a bit of a midwest accent-but embraced the south. I feel bad about Columbus - was a great place when I was a kid in the 70s.

I was a Toledo zoo executive member for 6 years, took my family there 5-6 times per year from mid Michigan on vacations. I will from now on, avoid Ohio like it's the plague. I cancelled my membership last year and don't ever expect to renew it again. The crime, drag racing and lawlessness around Columbus and Toledo is ridiculous. Yeah, it's great during the daylight. As soon as it's night, it's a whole different city.

The tourists thing is OK for me. I used to live in LA and it was annoying. Im just looking for something calm. Im in Austin and its OK but I prefer colder weather. I mostly am looking for hiking/backpacking and parks.

My Mexican bro took my job over a lesser paycheck and he doesn’t need any insurance because he gets medicaid and medicare, and a food card because of his wife and children and his five roommates pay $ 250 a piece to split the bills and rent. And all this extra money made by not having to pay out of pocket goes back to Mexico 🇲🇽 and Guatemala 🇬🇹 so other family members can live like upper class people. It’s so obvious why people from Mexico 🇲🇽 are Guatemala 🇬🇹 have no issues about lower wages or higher cost of living in Columbus Ohio or America. As Americans are catching on and moving to Mexico 🇲🇽 and Guatemala 🇬🇹 to do the same and live there like kings and queens.

I grew up in a small town ( less than 2, 000 people) and moved to cbus in my early 20's. Talk about culture shock. Id never really even been in the city before that. Im back in my home town now but ive considered moving back. I have a bunchvof old injuries. The winter is hell on my body. Im afraid if i decided to move id go right past cbus and not stop until i stopped seeing rusty trucks. Haha

I liked Columbus up until the late 1990's. Columbus is a sanctuary city = higher crimes, lawlessness.

The entertainment factor I agree with. My parents lived in Columbus when they met and got married there then my Dad got a job in the Illinois suburbs so that's where me and my brother were born and we've been here ever since. We still go there once or twice a year to visit family that still lives there but as nice as some areas are, its pretty lame to us. We have more fun stuff in the Chicago suburbs than Columbus has in their actual city. I've thought about moving there to save money but I figured I'd get bored as a single guy in his early 20s.

I disagree, there is plenty of housing here, it is just to high, 1475.00- 1 br 4th floor? You have to have 2 people living there to make that work right? I am glad we own our, paid it off when covid hit, not even planed, just the end of our payment book! The best feeling I have ever had, its true. Sad part is they rasied our property tax 2024, because a vote for a school levy. It's okay, as long as they use the money for that, right?✌
