I thought not having a factory to start off with (or a fleet by Australia) was a weird take away for UK. Still, It didn't seem to destruct their overall capability in the slightest in my experience as them so far.

Axis & Allies Anniversary Edition is a great game IF you add the following rules: (1) Every victory city gets an industrial complex. (2) Every industrial complex may produce units up to the quadruple IPC value of its territory. (3) No further industrial complexes may be built! With these rules Britain truly is a Kingdom United with five industrial complexes in the 1941 starting date. I never understood why the UK has three industrial complexes in the 1941 edition for beginners; two complexes in the 1942 2nd edition for standard game play but only one in the Anniversary Edition, which is the expert edition unless you go for the freaky 1940 global edition. With the exception of the global edition (1940 Europe and Pacific combined) I own all three editions and I like Anniversary best by far.

Here's a question, do you start with any IPCs on your first round as a nation in the Anniversary Edition?
