16:16 Make Your Own Shortcut Keys

Nothing will save you more time in Excel than learning the shortcut keys. In this video I'm going to show you the shortcut keys for 18 types of tasks in Excel, and even how to make your own shortcuts as well. I've pulled together these shortcuts onto a handy cheat sheet.

There are also two ways in which you can make your own at shortcut-keys as well. The first is very simple. Firstly you need to add the command you want to shortcut to your quick access toolbar. The way you do that is you click on the customize quick access toolbar, go to more commands, and I'm going to pick refresh all, which is great if you've got a lot pivot tables. Now once it's up there on your quick access toolbar, you can click ALT and that will give me number 7 straight away to access that.

The next way is, if you do something a bit more complicated, you can simply record it as a macro and when you hit record macro, one of the things that it asks you for is the shortcut key. I could type, and by holding down shift I can put a capital letter in, so I can have CTRL+SHIFT+D for example. But the problem is it allows you to pick letters that are already assigned to other shortcuts. Be very careful which letter you pick if you're going to go down this route.

💎Fix CTRL+SHIFT+0 for Windows 10
• In Settings go to Time & Language
• Search for Advanced Keyboard Setting
• Select Language Bar Options
• Select Advanced Key Settings
• Select Action = Between input languages
• Click Change Key Sequence
• Set Keyboard Layout Radio Button = Not Assigned

If this doesn't work, Add then Remove a new Language
• In Settings go to Time & Language
• Select Language
• Click Add a preferred language
• Click any language with a display icon and click next
• Click Install
• Once Installed go back and remove the language you've just installed

Reboot Excel for good measure and you should be up and running. If not, consult Google.

I've tried twice to get the shortcuts but firewalls prevent the downloads; do you have another way?
