Hope Bernal will recover as he rides. Pretty darn fast.
Dont go pro peloton on the road guys, especially not on busy roads, keep it simple and steady so you and other road users can react. He had to be going with really big speed for not seeing a bus or he was riding behind it for aero reasons. Dont do that, you never know when there is a bus stop. Guys, well kids (17-20y) from my local club had similar accidents (broken bikes that their parents bought them, collar bones etc), I understand you need to train, but keep in mind, open road is not a race track and you shouldnt behave like it is.

Wow, such a shame, hope he’s ok! Road riding in my area has become treacherous, a few wks ago a car blew a red light as I was crossing, luckily I took one extra look & hit my brakes as he blew the light at 60 mph, I’m lucky to still be alive. I was so upset I went home hung up my bike & haven’t touched it since. At 59 I’m done with road, all trail & gravel from now on, love your channel!

Harvey I live in Latin America and this happens all the time. Buses pass 50 cm next to you on the road the WHOLE time. Feel really bad for him but Ineos should be a bit more on the look for their riders. Not a smart idea to ride bikes here on the street

Egan was on his trial bike. A few pro riders are blaming crashes on extreme positions on these new TT bikes.

I had a mechanical and I called a friend to pick me up out the rain storm. I shouted watch out for that cyclist! He thanks he didn’t see him. I said I will cycle indoors for most of winter. Like you said they are people in ketosis driving cars out here. I hope Egan can bounce back this year.

Totally agree with your views. Ineos picked a terrible place to TT training. The roads in Colombia are well known for being quite dangerous, although this can happen anywhere of course. Hope he can recover well
