This is part of the problem, people will not have any faith in the courts when judges involve their personal opinions.

Outrageous, the magistrate(s) are there to sentence, not agree or disagree with the crime. This sets a terrible trend for magistrates or judges to deny the law but interpretative it as they see fit, agreeing with murder, rape etc! This magistrate needs to be sacked and an appeal lodged by the prosecution immediately because once a precedent is set in law it becomes law!
