I have 1973 convertible that used to be orange too, now it's black😢. I used to have a 1974 hardtop in bahia red. I recently sold it. I miss it somewhat.

That trigger shifter is actually an after market. On original VW shifters, you have to physically push straight down on the shifter and then go left and back towards you. Very good review on the Ghia.

I have a Green 1971 Karmann Ghia, Sedan....❤️ it is my Every Day Driver....! I cannot drive it anywhere without somebody wanting to talk about my car or following me to the gas station, or asking me what I consider selling it and giving me their name and their phone number....! It is a Beautiful Amazing Little Sports Car...! And it’s so much fun to

I owned a robins egg blue 1974 hard top. Bought it in 1975 from an Air Force Major going over seas. Less than 10, 000 miles. $3, 000. I was a freshman in college 18 yrs old. Drove it until 1981 when my son was born. I'd kill to have that car back. I'm now 65.

We have a 1971 Ghia coupe that was Amber, but someone over the years repainted Castillian Yellow, an original 1967 Ghia color. We have had this for almost seven years. It's in the garage next to the 1972 Westfalia Campmobile that I've had since 25 August 1988.

Had a 1970 VW Bug with a dual port 1600. The air cooled VDubs are sweet little cars. I'd love to get my hands on another but they are just too damn expensive and rare anymore. BTW, that's an after market header/exhaust. It should be sporting a dual "whistle" pipes exhaust with heat exchangers on the headers. At least, the Bugs did. I may be wrong about the Karmen Ghias... Someone will correct me I'm sure... Anyhow, yes that car is freaking gorgeous.

Me and my dad are currently restoring a '66 EU spec softtop, some guy widened the arches and put in a 1600 instead of a 1300. we currently have the chassis restored and its almost like a big go kart.

I've always had a convertible. I bought a "used" red 1971 Ghia convertible in 1971 with 500 miles on it for $2, 500 when a new one cost $3, 000. Although it was slow, and the air-cooled engine compromised performance of the heater and defogger and isn't powerful enough to have A/C, I absolutely loved it, especially with the top down . I'd have one today, except I live in south Florida now, where you need A/C if you intend to drive it year round.
