The Cha Cha Cha is a Latin dance which originated in Cuba. The name of the dance is an onomatopoeia derived from the shuffling sound of the dancers’ feet. Its rhythm requires very small steps, a chasse or a series of gliding steps most of the time with the famous hand movement, New York. It is danced in four-four time signature. Basic dance steps include forward and backward basic. Boys start with their left foot forward while girls start with their right foot backward.
