Nicole is amazing but the therapist is really good too. I love how she is guiding Celeste to the answers but not pushing her further than she needs to go.

Nicole did a fantastic job with this role. I have a whole new appreciation for her talent as an actress. The actress that played the therapist also did a fantastic job. Some of my favorite scenes were the ones with Celeste and the therapist. UGH this show was so great.

Acting at its finest.... this scene is remarkable. One of the best Nicole's performances

I remember this scene so vividly...I was emotionally crippled watching it...Kidman is just OFF THE CHART acting wise, and the therapist is so brilliant in her calm demeanor that just makes the scene that much more palpable...it is a scene in a film/movie/TV series I will NEVER forget....

This was such a sad scene to watch. Especially when the flashback appears and seeing her emotion about it after.

She portrays shame so well. It's the reason we let it get so bad and then have trouble leaving. The shame.

"But then I think about what we have. And we have a lot" gets me every time.

0:31 that actress playing the therapist is amazing!!! her face and her entire demeanor is so calm, yet shows clear signs of disgust towards perry and she seems disturbed by some of the things perry has done to celeste, understandably... and she's so soft spoken and strong and clear in her message to celeste: get the hell out of there!

I struggle watching this show, especially these therapy scenes with Celeste.
I made up SO MANY excuses to my therapist, and even flat out lied a few times. I was just to ashamed and embarassed. But like the therapist in this show, mine was so cleverly intuitive, respectful and helpful. My marriage was explosively abusive to where I was actually hoping he'd kill me this time so I wouldnt have to deal with the pain...
I got out and I'm still healing, with lots of support and love around me that i couldnt be more grateful for. This show just hits so close to home, and its messages and themes were conveyed brilliantly

This show made me see Nicolr Kidman in a whole new light. I thought she was a fine actress before. I saw she was a PHENOMENAL actress with this show. Really a masterclass. I will never forget the incredible nuance with which she portrayed this character.

Pretty impressive how this therapist could tell easily enough that this was an abusive relationship

I've never really seen her in stuff before, but this...yeah, she deserves all the praise she gets for her work.

I LOVE that her acting was so real...that her Australian accent just slipped out @ 0:12. I don't think that has EVER HAPPENED in the 20 something years that I have been watching Nicole Kidman.

I think this scene, the whole scene not the abbreviated version, should be shown as a how to for handling this situation as a therapist. Absolutely an amazing job of research directing and acting coming together as one to show the strength and resiliency of women and their sense and obligation to one another to be the stronger sex. This show omg is just about the best testimony to me that women really are smarter and more apt to rule the world. The craziest part is that it was written by a man.

The violence becomes more frequent, more serious and more prolonged, until there is nothing of the love and the good times left.

the Therapist is Calamity Jane from the show Deadwood....very hard to reconcile that this is same woman! lol. oh Robin Weigert btw

Robin Weigert is to Big Little Lies what Lorraine Bracco was to the Sopranos. She puts a microscope on the insecurities of the main character
