Happy holidays everyone! Today we're breaking down my $5000 holiday budget. If you've seen my past budget videos, you know that I'm a huge fan of building a sinking fund for holiday spending. As someone who travels every Christmas, this has been a huge savior for my budget and mental health.

I forgot to mention in my video but as you start your holiday shopping, please think about buying gifts from small businesses and friends with small businesses! A lot of us have to compete with big businesses (who have big budgets) and we often get left in the dust during the holidays. I know it would mean a lot!

I started a Christmas sinking fund after watching one of your videos 2 years ago. The first year I didn’t put enough away each month and it was a stress Christmas however this year, after watching your video last year, I sat down & worked out every penny I would need. Even bought myself a Saving challenge on Etsy to keep me motivated. By November I saved all the money we needed and it was such a stress free Christmas, was able to get everything we needed and had £7 left over at the end!
So a big thank you for advocating sinking funds! They are so important! X

this is the second year i've had a sinking fund for the holidays. basically all my december spending comes out of that fund, it's definitely made this time of year a lot less stressful

This is such a helpful video and really makes me want to start a sinking fund for the Holidays next year so I'm less stressed. One unexpected cost is all the "Friendsgivings"/"Friendsmas" celebrations that pop up with different social groups, and needing to bring a dish/drinks to each one that can feed enough people gets a little financially taxing.

Although, thankfully, my cousins and group of friends do Secret Santa every year. It helps to just buy one gift for one person, and everyone has that mutual understanding vs. having to buy gifts for every single friend/family member.

Starting your holiday budget at Thanksgiving is so smart. It's easy to just think of holiday spending in terms of Christmas/holiday gifts and parties when it's really the next 5-6 weeks.

For the holidays, I usually do hand written cards and something from Groupon. I love Groupon. and girl: ROOMBA!! are robot vacuums. lol

Got the Eufy vacuum on Amazon for Black Friday a few years ago. Runs great and is a much more affordable option!

Awesome video Aja! We got my mom a Roborock S7 or something like that, the suction is very strong, it can go over carpet areas as well as wood AND it mops!! She loves it!!
