You should tap the middle of the shooting stick and make a small movement in a particular direction with the stick and hold your thumb there.

Game is amazing. I love the gameplay except for a few things...
It's basically freemium which means you have to rely on purchasing in-game content (Gold & Gems) with real-world cash. And the fact that multiplayer currently isn't available for Android. I was so happy to hear it was "available"... just for iphone/ipad only.
Waiting for it to be available on android, then it will be an even greater game.
I'd also love to be able to get gold easier, as I can't purchase any abilities on my shaman.
