I'm currently 20 hours into playthrough number two. I didn't even realize on my first playthrough that I never found Gale and I was like 70 hours in by the time I even knew he existed.

Here is what makes this game incredible. So many reviewers played this game and they all had different experiences that still equaled to Game of the year. That just shows the kind of quality work that larian put into the game.

It's kinda ironic dragon age origins was called the spiritual successor to baldur's gate and now baldur's gate 3 is called the spiritual successor to dragon age origins.

I heavily recommend following through with Astarion on a different playthru, he became my favorite companion and I never take him out of my party. His VA won awards for his role as Astarion for good reason. I absolutely love this game

55 hours in and I’m blown away with how great it is. I haven’t felt this way about a game in a good long while. Probably not since Red Dead 2.

Non turned based player here. Never touched 'em. But I got this for xbox series x because of all the reviews, and it was overwhelming. I was getting frustrated and lost. I just didn't know what the hell I was doing. Now I am starting to get into a groove and I am really liking it. I have so much more to learn.

Funny, when Matt released a video talking about BG3 days before release or on release day, can't remember, I was curious but what sold me on it was a simple sentence:

"If you're a fan of Dragon Age Origins, this is a must play for you"

And I thought to myself "Say no more" I finished watching the video and immediately got the game and you weren't wrong, the only reason this game became my #1 game ever is because it feels like a spiritual successor, dare I say that both DAO and BG3 share #1 in my eyes, mainly due to the sheer amount of content in DAO that expands the story and beyond.

So thanks Matty, I had a wonderful time playing this game thanks to your input, glad to hear you also finished your journey as well, can't wait to see what Larian has in store for the future.

I didn't know the game existed until a few days before launch. I've now logged over 500 hours into it and it's become my favorite game of all time. The characters in this game alone have resonated more with me than anything I've ever played, and I was glued to their stories from start to finish. That's not even mentioning the soundtrack, the world design, the choices mattering, and the reactivity of it all. I've since gifted the game to two of my friends and one of them now has more hours than I do, and the other is not far behind.

Im still playing baldurs gate. Mostly because i am too busy to devote long spurts. Im 60 hours in. And i love it. Amazing immersion, decision trees. Characters. No quests feel like busy work. Very engaging. I would gladly pay double for this quality of a game

It scratched that Dragon Age: Origins itch and i love it for that!

I'm noticing you comment on the smooth, natural movement of the characters... They look natural because they are! The cast did EXTENSIVE motion capture work for everything from walk animations to combat to cutscenes - to the point where they had a team of intimacy coaches for the romance scenes. Neil Newbon comments on it extensively in interviews because mocap is kind of his Thing. I'm so glad so many people love it as much as I do!

Finished my first campaign finally last night after 140 hours. Immediately went back to continue a 2nd character I made during the first campaign. This game is once in a lifetime amazing.

I keep finding new ways to do things.

I'm going solo. No companions. The options are amazing. I love this game.

One of the best ever. Easily.

The animations look so good because it was all mocap in the dialogue scenes. I think it was something like 240+ actors to voice and mocap every npc. Larian really put the effort in and I love that it paid off and they’re getting the recognition they deserve.

My first Larian game was DOS 2 a few years ago.

Astarian is definitely the "I can make him better" or "I can make him worse" character lol.

BG3...has become my favorite game of all time! Took over the spot from Skyrim.

scratched the tabletop d&d itch for me, since my college group all moved away a decade ago. Also, the fact that your choices actually effect the story made it so good. I can't wait to see what Larian makes next.

I could watch a review from you 10 years after release and still like the video! This game is definitely my goty. It’s been too long since a game has made me feel this way, the timing for me is a blessing as well
