Have only recently found out I have ADHD, it now makes so much sense that dub music was so comforting, so soothing for my soul.
It came close to meditation, I couldn't sit and meditate, too self aware but I could get lost in dub.
It was something I liked but I now realise I needed. I guess it was not just entertainment it was food for the soul, therapy.
I thank all the Dub Clubs I was lucky enough to have access to in London 30 odd years ago. Where no one asked questions of the little foreign white girl quietly leaning up on the speaker, having her insides massaged by the bass.
I am thankful for the unspoken (you don't bother us, we won't bother you) I would come out and drive myself home with a sense of internal calm, uplifted, recharged.

Greetings. I grew up with this music from the 70's. The first record i bought was dennis brown wolfs & lepards while i was at school. Everyone else was into punk rock. I love studio 1 roots and tubby's dubs. i used to go to phebes, norik, whereever shaka played. good memories. I ended up being one of the best house Dj's in the country. The Lord is and was my guidence. I took me years to find out. I now know the Truth.
