IRL: 1 time allstar, fantastic defender. 2k: arguably the GOAT

He’s one of those players that only true fans can appreciate. Casuals would just trash on him for not putting up 30 points. A 2way player that’s a really good 3rd-4th option. I remember he would put up numbers like 8-8-5-2-2 for stretches that not many others can do. Dude was a stat stuffer.

He was also a great athlete. There are rumors that he registered a vertical jump of ~ 44'5" near his prime. Freak of nature with long arms too. And a WOW Paladin tattoo across his back😂🤣

A man before his time. Him in today’s NBA would be even more of a monster.

I still remember that dude blocked Kobe 4 times in a row, and in just one minute. Never seen anything like that before and after.

He was the quintessential all rounder who could do a bit of everything. He had three 5x5 games (At least 5 points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals) that's 2nd in league history to Hakeem Olajuwon and only one of 14 players to ever record one.

Want to know what my favorite stat from that 03-04 season was? With AK47 on the court, the Jazz outscored opponents by 1.5 points per 100 possessions, which is decent, but nothing special. With him on the bench though, the Jazz got outscored by ELEVEN per 100! That's insane, for reference, the worst team that year, Orlando, was outscored by their opponents by their opponents at 6.8 per 100.
Without AK47, the Jazz were literally not just the worst team in the NBA, they were one of the worst teams OF ALL TIME! Despite this, he led his team to a winning record and one game away from the playoffs in the strongest WC we had ever seen. I can't say he was better than KG, who had the greatest season of his career that year, but to me that was otherwise an MVP level performance, not just All-Star. It's unfortunate he was never able to follow up on that greatness, his skillset would be more appreciated in today's game.

AK-47 in his prime was awesome to watch. I believe his style of play would be perfect synergy for the Spurs - a few more titles there if he was traded to or signed up with SAS somehow.

He’s one of my favorite players ever, extremely underrated. Amazing and versatile defender and solid scorer, he would be amazing if he played today. He really deserves some more recognition

One of the more underappreciated guys. There was nothing AK couldn't do, he was one of my favorite players during the early to mid 00s'. His defense was definitely his greatest asset and he was certainly fun to watch on both sides of the ball.

Man, I'd pay to see Tim Duncan, Channing Frye and AK47 streaming World of Warcraft.

How good was Alonzo Mourning a solid scorer and defensive juggernaut in his prime in the 90s and 2000s.
